What's a Tobax?

"Let us cross over the river
and rest under the shade of the tree."

Tobax
Long ago there was a small but stout community in Meadows of Dan Virginia. That community was called Tobax. Originally this parcel of land was given as a land grant to my Great great great great great grandfather, Captain Daniel Shelor for his service in the American Revolutionary War 1776.
Sadly the only evidence that Tobax ever existed is the old post office which still stands. A letter addressed to a resident of Tobax.
But now after a couple hundred years of silence, a local sawyer, named Daniel Shelor began his business of fulfilling the need for custom lumber with his portable sawmill dubbed "Tobax Timber Mill."
In an attempt not just to resurrect the name of Tobax but to continue making old paths, long forgotten by time, well trod once more. To give a better, cheaper option of personalized lumber to the experienced or aspiring woodworker. Daniel Shelor's hope is that through harvesting our own trees and using them for much more than firewood we can show the generations to come how to work hard for the things that matter and the benefits of keeping those old paths well trod.
The Lumber Revolution

Having your lumber cut in your own back yard cuts (no pun intended) out the middle man and puts you in control of getting the boards you need for your woodworking projects. Just Imagine! Now you don't have to sift through pre-cut boards only to have to pay heavily for them. Make finding lumber easier for yourself!
Let the lumber revolution begin!
